Privacy Policy
This policy explains what information St. A.R.B's School collects from students, parents and website visitors, why we collect it, how we protect it, and the choices available to you.
1. Who we are
St. A.R.B's School ("the School", "we", "us", "our") is an English medium, co-educational senior secondary school. We understand that when you share information about your child or your family with a school, you are placing a serious trust in us. This policy sets out how we honour that trust.
This policy covers information collected through this website and through the enquiry, admission and communication processes that follow from it.
2. Information we collect
2.1 Information you give us directly
When you fill in the enquiry form on this website, call the school office, or visit the campus, we may collect:
- Contact details — the name, email address and mobile number of the parent, guardian or enquirer
- Enquiry details — the class or stage you are enquiring about, the nature of your question and any message you choose to write
- Communication preference — whether you have opted in to receive updates by SMS, WhatsApp and email
2.2 Information collected during admission and enrolment
If your enquiry progresses to an admission, the School will separately collect the information required to admit and educate a child. This typically includes the student's name, date of birth, previous school records, address, parent or guardian details, medical or allergy information relevant to the child's safety, and documents required for verification. That information is collected through the School's admission process, not through this website.
2.3 Information collected automatically
Like most websites, our web host may automatically record basic technical information such as your browser type, device type, approximate location and the pages you viewed. This is used to keep the website working correctly and is not used to identify you personally.
3. How we use your information
We use the information described above only for the following purposes:
- To respond to your enquiry and answer your questions
- To share admission information, fee structure, prospectus details and required documents
- To arrange and confirm campus visits or meetings with school staff
- To send school notices, circulars, event invitations, holiday announcements and academic updates — where you have opted in to receive them
- To contact a parent or guardian urgently in a matter concerning their child's safety or wellbeing
- To maintain the School's own records and to meet obligations under applicable law and any affiliating board or regulatory requirement
We do not sell your personal information. We do not rent, trade or share your contact details with advertisers, marketing agencies, coaching institutes or any other commercial third party.
4. Communication opt-in: SMS, WhatsApp and Email
Our enquiry form contains a consent checkbox that reads:
"Opt in for weekly alerts via SMS, WhatsApp, and Email to stay updated on our platform."
By ticking this box you are giving the School your express consent to contact you on the mobile number and email address you have provided, using SMS, WhatsApp and email.
4.1 What you will receive
- School notices, circulars and important announcements
- Admission and enrolment updates relating to your enquiry
- Invitations to school events, functions, Sports Day and parent meetings
- Holiday, examination and result-related announcements
4.2 What you will not receive
We will not use your consent to send you third-party advertisements, promotional offers from other businesses, or any message unrelated to the School and your child's education.
4.3 Withdrawing your consent
You may withdraw your consent at any time. To stop receiving these messages, simply:
- Reply STOP to any WhatsApp or SMS message you receive from us, or
- Email us at starbs.school@gmail.com with the subject line "Unsubscribe", or
- Call the school office on 01482-294391 and ask us to remove you
We will action your request promptly. Please note that even after you opt out of general updates, the School may still need to contact you directly about matters concerning your enrolled child — for example a medical emergency, a safety notice, an attendance issue or a fee reminder. These are essential school communications, not marketing.
5. Student photographs and media
Photographs and videos of school events — the Annual Function, Sports Day, Parents Worship Day, laboratory sessions and classroom activity — are taken to record school life and may be used on this website, on school notice boards, in the school prospectus and on the School's official social media pages.
If you do not want your child to appear in photographs or videos published by the School, please write to us at starbs.school@gmail.com or inform the school office in writing. We will record your instruction and honour it going forward. Where a request is made about material already published, we will remove it from the School's own channels within a reasonable time.
The School does not publish a student's full personal details — such as address, phone number or date of birth — alongside their photograph in any public material.
6. When we share information
We share personal information only where it is necessary, and only in the following situations:
- With school staff who need it to answer your enquiry or to teach and care for your child
- With service providers who operate systems on our behalf — for example our website host, email provider or SMS or WhatsApp messaging provider. These providers may only use the information to deliver the service to us.
- With an affiliating board or education authority, where required as part of registration, examination or regulatory processes
- Where the law requires it — for example in response to a lawful order from a court, a government authority or a law enforcement agency
- In an emergency, with medical practitioners or emergency services, where sharing is necessary to protect the health or safety of a child
7. How we protect your information
We take reasonable steps to keep personal information safe. These include restricting access to student and parent records to authorised staff only, keeping physical records in secured areas of the school office, and using password-protected accounts and devices for digital records.
Please understand that no method of transmitting information over the internet, and no method of electronic storage, is completely secure. While we work to protect your information, we cannot guarantee absolute security. If we ever become aware of a breach affecting your personal information, we will act to contain it and inform affected persons and any authority as required by applicable law.
8. How long we keep information
- Enquiry information from this website is retained only for as long as needed to respond to the enquiry and for a reasonable follow-up period thereafter.
- Student academic and admission records are retained for the period required by the School's own record-keeping policy and by any applicable board, statutory or legal requirement.
- When information is no longer needed, it is securely deleted or destroyed.
9. Children's privacy
This website is intended for parents, guardians and adults. We do not knowingly invite children to submit personal information through this website. All enquiry forms should be completed by a parent or legal guardian.
Where the School processes information about a child in the course of educating them, it does so on the basis of the consent given by the parent or lawful guardian at the time of admission.

To exercise any of these rights, write to starbs.school@gmail.com or call the school office. We may ask you to verify your identity before acting on a request, so that we do not release a child's information to the wrong person.
13. Changes to this policy
